The Art of..

February 29th, 2008. Happy Leap Year everyone!. Well I'm making a big deal of it because one of my Uncle's birthday is today. I guess back then I always thought that kinda sucked because that day was only marked down every 4 years in the calendar. At the same time it was sorta cool and kept my Uncle young...at heart, haha. He's now got 8 kids, lol. Go Tito.

Art Updates

An exciting and productive day today. Here's a sneak peek for 2008, so keep your eyes open for my website.

Speaking of websites, here's an update on some of the work I've done for Blue Pixel Inc. You can see some of my matte painting/texture mapping samples here.

Looking forward to the 'Force 5' meeting tomorrow! (Yeah G, I'm calling it that from now on, lol.)

Like in the 'Gatchaman' (aka Battle Of The Planets) series...I should say, 'Birrrddd GO!' :P

Chill

My old folks dancing it up ,lol. Happy 32nd Anniversary again Mom & Dad.

I finally got the chance to upload these pics from my nephews 1st birthday party. I'll posting the rest these onto Flickr of course.

More Art candy and more sweet projects in the works.

I'm back to doing more traditional paintings again. Man I've missed it. What I love most about it now is that I've been combining some old and new techniques like the illustration in the middle, titled 'Ryumasa: Prologue'. It's one of my gem projects and this is just a little sample of things to come.

There's some new updates on my website with more artworks posted. Feelin' hyped like Quagmire here, lol. (Giggidy Giggity, alright!) .

Well this year for sure I'll be hittin' up a lot of the convention shows in U.S. along with my buddies from 'Alpha Kosmic'. Both Philippines and Korea are marked on our Calendar. (Yo Mike and Max, be ready!, lol).

Good times ahead:

"..I guard the secrets of time

within my mountain lair

And sear with fire

those who would abuse

my sense of honor

Only one knight

has sworn to defend me

His heart is gold

untarnished by fate

Taught in the ways

of the old ones

As rare as Chinese silk

woven in fine thread

and a myriad of colors.."

Snowman

A recent piece, 'Precious Creatures 3'. The animation part was fun to watch. To date I think I've accumulated close to 150 pieces now...Hmm maybe I'll do a few more and compile them into a coffee table book format. Just stuff in the works and ideas that's been way overdue for a long time now, but I'm glad there's been some great progress. It's a lot of work but well worth it.

Yikes, ang dami ng snowww. lol. Halo-Halo anyone? :P . Straight ahead is our house.
Yep. That's about 1'ft. over of snow here. Man I can't wait for Spring and Summer, lol.

What I'm more excited about actually is going home to the Philippines this year. Last year was fun but could've been more great if my brothers came. My Dad's there right now on a business trip. Lucky guy. He heads over there twice a year and spends 3 to 5 months in the snow-free weather, haha. (Dad, kumusta na work? :D )

A Year Older

Last weekend we had a big celebration and I think I still got the itis, lol.

Wow, what perfect timing. Today is the Chinese Year's Eve and my birthday! Someone was sweet enough to mention it to me earlier that it's a lucky sign. Hmm I hope so despite the bad snow storm we're having. Well, I think after receiving some new projects from the Big H ;) and an enticing email from some creative agent/developer from Facebook is probably telling me something. ;) . I am planning on visiting my cousins down in LA sometime this summer, so we'll see what happens.

Some update on the ReGeneration contest. Looks like they've announced the winners but unfortunately none of my pieces were picked :(. Boo. Oh well. What I did gain from it though are these illustrations to add to my portfolio. Because of my active so-called 'Digital Art' life/Graffitimaniacism, I've met some new fans and friends along the way all thanks to...where else, on Facebook!, lol.

Just wait 'till summer. Like a good buddy of mine would always say, 'Let's bring on the Ruckus!'

Speaking of ruckus, I had some fun doing these last week. Took me a while to upload some new pics from my cam but here they are. This was for a new clothing store downtown called '5 Star Urban Clothing'. I designed and painted their logo as well prior to this. Originally I did a couple of variations on the computer and they chose this one. Simple enough. Check out the bad boyz below, lol.
