FanExpo: Day 1

I haven't attended a convention in Toronto in years and wow I really missed it. It's so different for me now though considering a lot has happened between then. (It's been about 6 or 7 years since I think that I went to a Canadian convention).

Day One yesterday I brought along my youngest sister, Judea. My girlfriend and her friends arrived a couple of hours before. One of them had me and my buddy Greg sign The Flash..cool.

Anyways, here are some pics. Saturday is going to be the busiest day. Enjoy!

Highschool Reunion

This weekend was a blast. I went to a party with my girl last Saturday and didn't even realize that it was my highschool reunion of some sort. I mean, it was great to finally see some old friends. A lot of the ones that showed up it seemed, brought their significant other. There was a lot of talk about people getting married, or getting engaged and stuff..hhaha. Yup, at this stage it's about that time.

Anyways, Kate always gets nervous at these types of event. Specially at my friends or family gatherings, but I always make sure she's comfortable to go. Well I know she's glad she came to this one because I got her some contacts for web designs, lol. Everytime I introduced her, I would mention them that she's the one that helped me built my website. :) She got along with them great.

There was about close to 30 people at the party, including ourselves and it was held at the Richtree. It used to be where the Marche Restaurant used to be. About 10 years ago, some of my classmates actually held a party there and I missed out on it 'coz I was working a summer job at that time. (A month later I joined an art studio called 'ShockStudios'.)

*Thanks to my friend Michelle for putting this great party together! We'll do this again in 6 years you say?.. 2012..Woa, lol.

Alrighty. Here's them pix. Enjoy!

Home Sweet Home

Wow what a trip. This has to be one of my favourite long weekends ever...Right now I'll need more sleep I think to adjust back to my regular grind...and post up a nice entry for this blog.

I added new link here. I consider him a good friend in the industry and actually I bumped into more several familiar faces on this trip...anyways..I'll continue later. Can't write much right now..I need my Zzzz's!

Biten by a Wolfe
Oh I just had to add this in. Here's my friend James standing in front of an artist booth admiring a particular art print. Hmmm..that piece up there does look familiar. The image of the Super Skrull vs. The Fantastic Four. Oh wait didn't I colored just one like that?, lol. According to the artist, his name is Marc Wolfe (the bald guy sitting behind the booth) he got the artwork from some charity and that he himself colored the actual piece. Took him about 8hrs he says. Ohh boy..I thought to my self, "Wow, if ya only knew buddy."...*warning, this one bites big time!! Just by looking at the print up close, I could tell that he essentialy just colored overtop of the finished piece and did his dabbles. Wha?

For $10 or I think $15 a print, I hope the money is really going towards a good cause, lol. I mean there wasn't really any original stuff that this guy was producing. So I kept it cool and let the man have fun in the sun, plus I ain't the type to create a scene.

Eventually, I hope this guy will realize that he'll have to create something original. Start something from a blank piece of paper. Better yet, stop fooling and claimining other people's works.

Below are more pics from Chicago:
Woah. They do exist! The infamous mini burgers at White Castle.

The concert at the Rosemount Theatre was awesome, although it would've been sweeter if they had the Tron cycle on stage like they had in LA. My fav was this pianist and she played 10 themes from the Final Fantasy series. All I can say was, dengg she's good. Espanol hair salon. Ci. I hope these guys have the permission to use that image.
Wrigley Field Stadium...Go Cubs Go.

Up! Up and Away!..Superman's back!

Woohoo! I finally saw Supes movie last night with Kitty. It was so amazing and had the special fx in all Superman glory. Sadly, all the tickets for the IMAX version were all sold. Argh! So I had no choice but get the regular ones. Three of our friends were there as well and thanks to them, we got some goood seats. Well, I know we'll be watching this movie again and again..in 3D IMAX!.

I can't help but nicpick some parts of the movie though, mostly in the end. I think for those who haven't seen it yet, there's definitely some surprising cool stuff. Overall this movie rocks!!! I got to wear my own airbrushed superman shirt with pride, hehe. (thanks babe and go Chucky! For wearing the 'S' shirt too!!) Heck, in this weeather I'll even wear my Superman leather jacket.
There was one guy though in the theatres who was a hardcore superman fan, and yup he wore a cape!, lol. People even cheered for him when he entered, haha "Yeahhhhh you go man!!".

Here's a shirt I made for Kitty and I. Very cute, lol.

Tattooing for fun

This weekend was sweet. Request for custom airbrush shirts was awesome and as usual my hands at the end of the day was covered with paint splats. I got to do several temporary tattoos on people as well and it's always feel weird how the booth gets so crowed with onlookers. It gets worse when the ladies get a tattoo on their lower back and/or chest :P (Deng pervs!..lol)

On the right: Yup, she didn't feel no pain.

Here's today's pencil rendering.
This was done a while back actually (1998 I think) and somehow I never get the time to finish the sword. Leave it or finish it, hmmm......
