On this day

On this day my parents are celebrating their 32nd Wedding Anniversary. (I'll be scanning a photo and posting it tonight) My Dad's never been to Red Lobster before so both my siblings and I are treating them out and paying for their dinner. This Saturday my mom wants to combine both my upcoming birthday (Feb.6th) and their anniversary. So this weekend should be fun, lol.

The Green Journey

Looks like one of my entries for the ReGeneration drawing contest have been featured on their site. Yay! :D The piece they selected which I titled, 'The Green Journey' has also been spotted in the Silicon Alley Insider which somebody was nice enough to post this.

Well the deadline for the contest is this Thursday at midnight EST. That should still give me enough time to submit a couple more cool stuff. To be honest ever since I found out about these contests, I've been on a Facebook Graffiti drawing binge! haha. My mind's full of ideas that I wish I can just easily plug in a USB printer in my brain and start printin' like a madman :P

ReGeneration

And so another Graffiti Contest has begun. It's called 'Graffiti ReGeneration Contest' and it's ponsored by Dell. The Best overall wins a 22'' Ultrasharp Widescreen Flat Planel Monitor! Pretty sweet I say. I've submitted 6 entries so far and I'm hoping one of them will win me that prize ;)

I finally decided to open up a Facebook Group (yeah, I know I caved in and just had to make one up too for myself, haha :P). Simply called 'Marv's Graffiti', it's just a group page showcasing most of the stuff I've done on that simple, yet-addictive application. Once a day or so I'm there creating some fun digital doodles. I've noticed too that I'm able to paint a lot faster than before and just go crazy with it. The program has some slight glitches though. More accurately it's the infamous 'Save Bug' that has people pissy -mad over this thing. A lot of them, including myself, have lost one or more pieces after trying to submit a finished artwork. Luckily there's always a print screen function that I think everyone knows about and have tried to save the artwork this way.

Anywho, enjoy! :D

The ELEMENTS!

The 3rd Graffiti Contest is now up and running on Facebook. Much to my surprise they chose 'The Elements: Earth, Wind, Water and Fire' as their next theme which was one of my suggestions on their discussion forums. I'm just hyped because I totally feel like I'm in my element here (yes, pun intended, lol). The deadline is about a week from now and my goal is to have as many kick-ass pieces and try to win that special Edition Intuos3 tablet! ;)

On a different sad note, I just recently heard news that a former elementary school classmate of mine has passed away. Her name was Katherine. Most of us were actually reconnected through Facebook. I was very shocked and sadden by the news of course. Tomorrow will be the funeral date and she will be buried the next day. May you rest in peace Kathy. Our St.AD Class of '91 will always remember you.

2008 Arrives.

Wow it's the year 2008. Anyone driving a flying car yet?..haha. I hope everyone had a great New Years.

Big things are happening this year and I'll be making an effort to jot down and post every significant events...well maybe even the obscure stuff here and there. Like my self-portrait above, lol. It's been years since I've done one. In fact since I was in high school! :P. Yikes. Hey, I might as well while I'm still young right? Haha.

Here's the progression tiled up.

For the second time in a row I've won Facebook's Graffiti Contest!.Dubbed 'Objects Brought to Life' there were over 8000 entries and several of my pieces made it to the Top 150. The judges selected the 'Screaming Cork' as a winner for the 'Fast' category. Thanks again to Graffiti and Wacom! ;)
