Blasted- luvin' ALIEN.

Wow, found this 'lil gem in the archives. It was my infamous 'Alien' creature that I built way back in high school. I was hooked on the original Alien design that I challenged myself to build one too as part of my final independant assignment. This thing stood over about 4 feet tall, fully articulated and even had it's own 'tongue' snapping signature.
The one story my art teacher will never forget was when the time while I was constructing this piece. I had a minor accident and the dang beast fell and bonked me right on my nose! Well my art teacher witnessed the scene and was kind enough to rush me some paper towels for my bleeding injured nose, lol. It hurt but looking back, it was pretty funny. My art teacher even did a humorous illustration of the class room with me fighting with my creature.

Rockin

A friend of mine is launching a cool new site called 'Guitar Hype'.
It's going to be the next big thing after Google, lol. Come check!

Remembering 9/11

A Thousand Cries

A thousand cries that sound as one
Forever silenced in a moment
The smoke and dust that blocks the sun
The terror that has been wrent

The innocent lives that have been lost
The families ripped apart
To find the guilty no matter the cost
Cannot mend the heart

The days ahead will be long
The pain it shall be great
The retribution for the wrong
Will now be left to fate

We will strive to remember
The evil that was done
That sad day in September
A thousand cries sounded as one
Dedicated to those lost Sept.11,2001

Long Weekend Foodnanza

BBQ salmon, chicken and beef. Where's the corn guys?
Puto! A filipino style rice cake dessert.

Celebrating the long weekend with the family and relatives.
Kids and their games.

Dad wanted to get some good pics with the pear trees, lol. They were ready for harvest.

My nephew and the latest addition to the fam. Reminds me of that Gerber Baby, lol.

We took a quick trip to my grandparents cemetery to pay our respects.

Sept.4, 2008 would've been my Grandfather's 88th birthday. Still I'd like to say, 'Happy birthday Lolo'.

After our break we headed back home and enjoyed the rest of the day mingling, eating and talking about the goodtimes.

Speaking of goodtimes. Smoothies rock. Cheers.

Dionaea Muscipula

A perfect sunny day at the Canadian National Exhibition.
Carnivorous plants. Yep, these suckers do eat flies.
This is the 3 amigos batch. There are 12 head traps on this pot alone.

One big juicy fat fly on the wall. Unfortunately my plant is still a baby and meals that size will have to wait.
About to munch on one.

Wushu reflexes caught this sucker. Food for thought. I mean food for my plant, lol.
